Streaming Availability API provides an extensive image archive for shows, streaming services and addons. Here in this guide we will go over the details of these images.

Show Images

For shows, Streaming Availability API provides 4 different image types. These are vertical poster, horizontal poster, vertical backdrop and horizontal backdrop. These images are returned as part of a show object for all the show-related endpoints.

All the urls for show images are valid from 6 months to 1 year. Thus, if you are planing to store image urls locally, make sure to refresh them periodically.

Vertical Poster

A vertical poster is a vertical JPEG image accompanied by the show's title. In case we do not have any vertical posters available for a show, we will return a backup SVG image with black background and the show's title.

Vertical posters are available in 5 different widths: 240, 360, 480, 600 and 720.

Horizontal Poster

A horizontal poster is a horizontal JPEG image accompanied by the show's title. In case we do not have any horizontal posters available for a show, we will return a backup SVG image with black background and the show's title.

Horizontal posters are available in 5 different widths: 360, 480, 720, 1080 and 1440.

Horizontal Backdrop

A horizontal backdrop is a horizontal JPEG image that is used as a backdrop for the show's details. It does not contain any text.

Vertical Backdrop

A vertical backdrop is a vertical JPEG image that is used as a backdrop for the show's details. It does not contain any text. It is the ideal backdrop for mobile devices and other vertical screens.

Vertical backdrops are available in 5 different widths: 240, 360, 480, 600 and 720.

Service & Addon Images

For streaming services and addons, Streaming Availability API provides 3 different image types. These are light theme logo, dark theme logo and white logo.

All the logos come with vertical padding to make them look proportional with each other when displayed side by side. Thus, you do not need to add any extra padding to the logos, and you can display them nicely by using the same height value for all of them.
